Stay-at-Home Mom Entryway Makeover

How I Created a Welcoming, Productive Space on a Budget

If you’re a stay-at-home or work-from-home mom like me, you know how important it is to love the space you’re in. Whether you’re running a household, managing your own business, or just trying to make a little extra money from home, your environment plays a huge role in your mindset.

For me, working as a virtual assistant and content creator means I’m constantly taking client calls, filming reels, and finding pockets of time to stay productive while raising a little one. I needed our entryway to be more than just cute—it had to be functional, peaceful, and styled for the multitasking life of a mom who works from home.

Here’s exactly how we transformed this space using budget-friendly finds from Amazon and a few custom touches:

Step 1: Add Character with DIY Wall Paneling

We started by adding wood panels in two different vertical dimensions to give our entryway some visual texture. This easy project instantly elevated the space and gave it that custom, high-end feel.

Step 2: Swap Out Lighting for a Warm Glow

Next, we changed out our old light fixture for this gorgeous chandelier that adds elegance and warmth — perfect for welcoming guests or just making your home feel more “put together” as a busy mom.

Step 3: Paint That Sets the Mood

We painted the entire area in Evergreen Fog by Sherwin-Williams — a soothing green-gray that feels both modern and cozy.

Step 4: Create a Functional Drop Zone

Hooks are a game-changer for moms. I added some stylish wall hooks to hang jackets, bags, and grab-and-go items.

Step 5: Style the Entry Table for Beauty + Function

I styled our entry table with:

  • A rounded mirror to open up the space
  • A stunning floral art print
  • Faux greenery + a chic neutral vase
  • A warm gold lamp
  • Faux hydrangeas that never need watering

Step 6: Add Faith + Comfort

We had a custom scripture print made by Smallwoods and paired it with a beautiful faux plant for a soft, homey feel.

Step 7: A Rug for Style + Real Life

Let’s be honest: as a mom, rugs are not just for looks—they’re for catching crumbs, dog hair, and toddler traffic. This one is both durable and beautiful:

Why Every Work-from-Home Mom Deserves a Beautiful Space

As someone who runs a virtual assistant business from home, I spend a lot of time in these four walls. Whether I’m prepping for a Zoom call, editing social content, or taking care of my family, I want to feel inspired—not overwhelmed—by my environment.

I’ve learned that when your space is organized, welcoming, and styled with intention, you show up differently. You work better, parent better, and even rest better.

If you’re a stay-at-home mom looking to make money from home, or dreaming of starting your own virtual assistant business, it starts with creating a space that supports your goals. You deserve that.
